Is electric current similar to current?

CBSE PHYSICS
Is electric current similar to current?

Ans: Yes it is very much like a flow of water or wind current. In the case of water, it is the water molecules that flow in a pipe. The head or pressure of water is similar to "voltage", the thickness and length of the pipe is similar to "resistance" and the rate of flow like pints per second is similar to "amper" in electricity. So if we compare electricity and water flow, "voltage" is similar to "pressure", "resistance" to the thickness and length of the pipe and "amper" is similar to pints per second.

How do you produce alternating current and direct current?

Ans:
Alternating current is produced by a type of generator called an alternator.

Direct current is produces by a generator called a dynamo, or by rectifying altenating current, or solar panels, or cells and batteries.
